Having taught at Camino Nuevo for five years, I completely agree with what Shirley said about some of the differences between charter schools and non-charter public schools. Camino Nuevo is a progressive school that entrusts teachers to make decisions about how to best meet the needs of their students, while also fostering their professional growth through collaboration and analysis. It is indeed a special place, but it requires all stakeholders - administrators, teachers, other staff, parents, and students - to be committed to the school's mission. I'm looking forward to more stories from MPM about the community! Nicely done!

You can feel the emotion from each speaker and understand the difficulty of their choices. Public school does have to take everybody which is full of challenges. A parent has to take responsibility for making the choice for each child..they are all individuals. Keep reporting..you are bringing information to all of us!
